HOW TO MAKE CONCRETE LEGO BLOCKS

1. Prepare the Casting Area

Start by creating a flat surface for casting. Lay down a plywood panel or (even better) steel plate on the ground and place the mould on top. For best results, we recommend using our casting table to create a completely flat surface as a base for mould placement. If it has not been done before: clean the mould thoroughly before use to remove concrete residue from previous castings.

2. Apply Mould Release Agent

Evenly spray all the inner walls of the mould and the ground surface (plywood panel or steel plate) with concrete release oil using a professional sprayer. This step is crucial for easy removal of the mould from the cured concrete block. Spraying the outside of the mould when you first use it will increase its longevity.

3. Mix and Pour Concrete

Pour concrete into the mould and make sure it is completely filled. Carefully dose the last concrete to prevent overfilling.

4. Vibrate the Concrete

During the pouring process, use a concrete vibrator to eliminate air pockets within the mixture. Proper vibration ensures the structural integrity of the blocks. While vibrating, you will see that small air bubbles gradually rise to the surface, indicating the concrete is compacting well. Air pockets substantially weaken any concrete structure.

5. Smooth the Surface

After pouring, use a concrete straightedge tool to level the surface of the concrete. Achieve a dense and uniform finish. Respect the curing time of the concrete mixture, which varies depending on the concrete mixture and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

6. Opening the Mould

Once the concrete has sufficiently cured, remove the wedges from the corner parts using a hammer. Place them in their designated slots in the corner piece. Use the mould opening tool to release the concrete blocks safely and easily from the steel mould.

7. Concrete Block is Ready for Use

Upon mould removal, the interlocking concrete blocks are ready for use. For convenient handling and positioning of the blocks we offer a wide range of accessories, including block clamps, a block lift turner, or lifting beam.
